Opinions and Editorials : Dear disTHIS

lost friends, new friends
By j detorre

I had a relationship with a disabled women long before devotee and other terms had been coined, thank goddness. I simply met her more or less by chance. I found her, attractive not because of her disability. it didnt seem a turn off, just different. I asked about her cruthes and braces. Then polio, then her surgery, all up front.I didnt need much help to do my boy part. She open the door for me just to be a guy.Did her disability add some complexity to our relationship? Yes, people stared at us alot I noticed. WE were just a couple, one of us just walked slower. Now to the point for this audience.I would be labeled now as something, that probably would have kept me from making the first move as guys ussually do.Then she would have suspected my motives and not talked me thru the tricky points of having a disabled lover. So if you are disabled , give that shy guy a chance, odds are he is interested more than you think and not sure how to proceed.Good luck to everyone! jd
